Redhill route stations including Reigate, Nutfield and stations between Merstham and Horley to be included in Oyster zone 6

Please sign this petition to support the inclusion of Redhill route stations into Zone 6 of the Oyster fares zones.

Fares to London from stations on the Redhill route in East Surrey are significantly higher than other equivalent stations in Surrey and further away from London in Sussex. This unfair situation has been the case for many years and it is time a correction is made.

Currently the service from Redhill has been subject to drastic cuts, chronic overcrowding and appalling reliability creating significant discomfort and extended journey times - ruining the home life of regular commuters. Compensation is necessary.

The opportunity for the extension of the Oyster Fare Zone to Gatwick Airport is soon to be considered and implemented within the Thameslink Management Agreement by the Department of Transport this September - subject to the Secretary of State agreeing that the commercial terms are acceptable.

We implore the Secretary of State to urgently restate the fairness of the charges at Redhill route stations by taking this opportunity to bring the group of stations on the Redhill route into Zone 6 during the significant disruption period.

We note that Heathrow Airport is also in Zone 6 and that it is fitting that both major London Airports have equality in fare structure from London

This petition is raised on behalf of the Reigate, Redhill and District Rail Users' Association, please sign to support our cause!
