Dear Amazing Supporters,

Thank you again for supporting my family’s campaign to enshrine the right of the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP), like my grandmother, Elaine Danforth Harmon, to be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery.

You may recall from my last update that my sister Erin wrote a book about the journey to ensure our grandmother’s last request was filled. I am thrilled to share that the book has now been released! It is called, "Final Flight Final Fight," and you can get your copy here.

The legislation that was passed as a result of your support was HR 4336 and although I enjoy referring to the law as “Gamster’s Bill”, I am proud to report that this bill has already benefited not just our family, but other WASP families as well.

I feel so lucky that we were able to reach so many people through this campaign.

Erin was the main driving force behind the social media and lobbying campaigns related to HR 4336. Her inspirations for writing the book were to share our grandmother’s and the WASP story with a wider audience as well as to provide a real-life example of the importance of civic engagement. While our grandmother wasn’t one for tooting her own horn, she had a deep love for her family, her country, and civics. She would have gotten a copy of this book for everyone she knew. And, I know I may be a bit biased, but I absolutely love the book. It is peppered with anecdotes that reveal bits of my grandmother’s unique and fun personality, along with the nuts and bolts of what our family went through just trying to organize a simple funeral.
