Dear amazing supporters, This is Erin, Tiffany's sister, writing to you this morning with a heavy heart. When I woke up this morning I had an email from our mother with one sentence, "This concerns me." The email contained a forwarded message from the Women in Military Service for America Memorial, the planned location of our family memorial service to our grandmother, Elaine Harmon. The Women's Memorial IS IN DANGER OF SHUTTING DOWN DUE TO LACK OF FUNDS, meaning we may not be able to hold our grandmother's planned memorial service there! My grandmother was a charter member of the Women's Memorial. Before it opened, she was working to ensure that the women who served this country in uniform had a memorial dedicated just to honor that service. In her letter requesting to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery, she also said we could hold a memorial service in her honor at the Women's Memorial. NOW HER MEMORIAL SERVICE IS IN DANGER. You may ask yourselves, "HOW MUCH CAN ONE FAMILY HAVE TO WORK JUST TO ENSURE THAT THEIR GRANDMOTHER WHO SERVED THE UNITED STATES DURING WWII HAS HER LAST REQUEST FULFILLED??" Believe me, our family has been asking that for over a year! But we are willing to do it because it is worth it and we know we have people like you to help us! Knowing how much support you gave to ensure that a law was passed to honor all Women Airforce Service Pilots at Arlington National Cemetery, I am hoping that you will all be willing to donate $1 to the Women's Memorial. Over 178,000 people signed this petition, if you all donate only $1, that is over $178,000! That will certainly be a gift to the Women's Memorial to help them stay afloat. DONATE HERE: https://womensmemorialstore.wufoo.com/forms/online-registration-and-donation-form/ A few weeks ago, I was honored to greet an all-female honor flight from Florida as they visited the Women's Memorial (photo). As I talked to one veteran, she started crying as she explained to me how much it meant to her that there was a memorial dedicated to women like her who had served our country in the military. THIS IS YOUR MEMORIAL TO HONOR FEMALE VETERANS. PLEASE HELP KEEP IT OPEN. https://womensmemorialstore.wufoo.com/forms/online-registration-and-donation-form/ My sisters and I cannot watch our mother endure any more heartache regarding this situation with our grandmother. Please help us by donating $1 to the Women's Memorial. The Miller Sisters Erin, Tiffany, and Whitney https://womensmemorialstore.wufoo.com/forms/online-registration-and-donation-form/
