Friends, This week the Military Justice Improvement Act was defeated in the Senate, for the second time in a year. After all of the hard work we’ve put into this campaign – sharing it, delivering signatures, talking to legislators – I won’t lie, it’s very disappointing. But Senator Gillibrand says she’s not going away. And neither are we! Read more about Sen Gillibrand’s next steps here: http://politi.co/1GcakGX No human being should ever be sexually assaulted, or have their body controlled and abused by another person. But perhaps even worse than the rate of sexual assault in the military are the ways in which the institution protects rapists, and allows them to continue wielding power over the brave men and women who fight for our country. The military was created to protect innocent lives -- we are better than this. This week this enormously powerful institution beat us in a battle for justice. But this was one battle, we have an army of 131,000 warriors for justice who will keep fighting to protect and support survivors. We’re not stopping, Senator Gillibrand isn’t, and hopefully you won’t either. Please send a tweet to Sen. Gillibrand to thank her for her hard work by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1KWHPmM Thank you again for your continued support. Terri
