Henry was a person with a multitude of aspirations and ambitions. He had a passion for music and video game design, and he was determined to make these dreams a reality. His presence alone could light up any room and his infectious smile and positive attitude were contagious. Henry was a true friend to everyone he met, always supportive and guiding them through life‘s ups and downs. He had a special gift for understanding the needs of others, and helping them in the most gentle and compassionate ways. What Henry brought to his friends, he also brought to the world empathy for the vulnerable, young and old, but Henry was hiding his own pain that his father, who was also a former police officer, was psychologically and emotionally abusive to him. Despite being in pain, Henry felt he couldn’t tell anyone about his father’s actions without causing conflict and making his father more upset. On a court ordered scheduled visit, Henry went to his father’s home and tragically lost his life in the middle of the night of April 16, 2021, when Henry’s father decided to kill Henry in his sleep. In memory and honor of Henry, I will be his voice and work tirelessly to raise awareness about domestic violence, the Extreme Risk protection orders / Red Flag Law that Wisconsin desperately needs. I will share Henry’s story and advocate for laws that will protect and save innocent lives. We cannot stand by and hope for this law to be passed while the lives of adults and children are being lost in the very places where they should feel safest. We need to make Wisconsin’s children a top priority. We cannot afford to lose another innocent life to gun violence. Please help by sharing this petition. Sincerely Henry’s Mother, Jennifer
