Erin Murphy’s response

I am incredibly proud of the comprehensive anti-ice legislation the Senate DFL passed. The legislation we passed included essential spaces, a mask prohibition, the requirement to render aid, requiring the state’s bureau of criminal investigation (BCA) to participate in criminal investigations, and creating a civil cause of action.

This is the result of months of work on the part of many members and our talented staff. Bill authors Senators Latz and Fateh led our floor debate, a powerful response to the horror Minnesotans experienced. The Senate Democrats took action just as Minnesotans did as ICE invaded our state.

I hope you and your petitioners saw the work, our fight, and our commitment to Minnesotans safety and freedom.

In the face of lawless and reckless federal agents stripping people of the human and civil rights as well as the killing in broad daylight of two innocent Minnesotans, we stood up for our people, our state, this nation, and our future.
