Hello Supporters,

Governor Northam has officially signed our bill into law. Effective July 1, it is illegal in the state of Virginia to chain your dog up during a hurricane warning or tropical storm warning, if the animal is not safe from predators, during a heat advisory, a severe weather warning, or a period when the temperature is 85 degrees Fahrenheit or higher or 32 degrees Fahrenheit or lower.

It has been a long road full of frustration, disappointment, and sometimes disbelief. But we did it.
