The fight to protect Virginia's dogs in harsh weather continues, as Senate Bill 272 was heard this morning in the House and subsequently pushed until next week. Although Delegate Levine, patron of House Bill 1552 (the weaker of the two tethering bills this session) agreed to conform his language to the Senate Bill (which is what we want), the House was seemingly confused by that prospect. As you will see in this video, Delegates Poindexter and Bloxom tried to passive-aggressively pick our Senate Bill apart by offering rare and unusual circumstances where the language may not work. They have a history of obstructing this bill and are clearly trying to do it again. Senator Bell answered their questions thoroughly and definitively. We're still alive for now, but as always, we're back to waiting...at least for another week.
