Petition updatePass a member's bill for presumed liability between motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.“The Promotion of Walking and Cycling as Active Travel in Scotland”.
Cycle Law Scotland
Oct 30, 2017
On Tuesday 31st October, there’s a debate planned in the Scottish Parliament on “The Promotion of Walking and Cycling as Active Travel in Scotland”. We haven’t yet seen the motion that the Scottish Government will put forward for debate, but we do urge everyone to contact their MSPs (use https://www.writetothem.com/) and ask them to speak about the need for a change in Legislation (presumed liability) in Civil Law for road traffic collisions to bring us in line with the rest of Europe. It is important that this stays firmly on the agenda and is not overlooked as it has been in the past. We have done the research, we have the evidence and we know the impact and benefits this can bring. It is quick, cheap and easy to implement so let's not delay any longer. Thanks for your help as always.
