#ButNotMaternity: Nationwide action today!
Oct 20, 2020 —
Today is a huge day of action for the campaign - pregnant women including Big Brother winner Kate Lawler and MP Alicia Kearns are taking part in a nationwide action by writing #ButNotMaternity on their bumps. The action is being covered by Grazia, Sky News and other media outlets. And at this crucial moment in the campaign - we need you to show your support and help make this change for pregnant women across the country!
Here’s what you can do to take part:
- Take your own picture with #ButNotMaternity on your bump, your arm, or anywhere you like. If you’re not pregnant, you’re a dad, or you’ve already had your baby, hold up a sign with #ButNotMaternity on it and post it with that hashtag on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook. Share your experience of pregnancy and restrictions on birth partners, or why you support the campaign. And tag your local MP and your local NHS trust - they need to see this!
- Go to the Instagram post which has some incredible pregnant women and mums on it, and like it, post a comment of your experience, and share it with your friends on your stories - using #ButNotMaternity
With the different tiers of restrictions in different areas across the country there is a real danger that some maternity restrictions could increase. We need to let them know loud and clear that we will not accept increased maternity restrictions - and we will keep campaigning until pregnant women across the country are allowed their birth partners with them at all pregnancy scans and all stages of labour!
