In Australia, there are no welfare standards for circus animals. Some Australian States may have codes of practice or legal requirements, which at best focus on protecting animals from cruelty but not encouraging good welfare.

I cannot begin to imagine how it feels to be kept in an environment where you are being forced to do things that goes against your nature. I am speaking out on their behalf, since they are vulnerable and cannot do it. My children would never be entertained by these frivolous acts showcasing ‘human dominance’ over the other species. This is unethical and it should stop.
