Typical fob off. Not good enough Parks Victoria. You took over the lease of Bobs Park in 2008 then closed the park. Reply below.
’Thank you for making contact, I acknowledge receipt of the petition at the link below.
Aura Vale Lake Park is a popular place for community members to enjoy sailboarding, canoeing, picnicking and fishing. In the past Aura Vale Lake Park consisted of two main areas utilised by visitors, Henley’s Picnic Area and Bob’s Park. Henley’s Picnic Area is open to the public and includes a large car park, toilet block, picnic areas and water craft launching facilities, which are well utilised. Bob’s Park was closed permanently to the public in 2008 due to extensive failing infrastructure and degraded assets.
This closure meant maintenance works and investment can be focussed on the larger visitor node at Henley’s Picnic Area, which will also receive significant funding in 2021/2022 from the State Governments’ Active Well Being Program, to upgrade the toilets, car parks, picnic facilities and automatic gate. This program will also improve facilities and assets at other visitor sites in the nearby Cardinia Reservoir Park.
Parks Victoria is aware of the community concerns and issues at Bob’s Park. Parks Victoria staff regularly patrol Aura Vale Lake Park, however Bob’s Park continues to experience vandalism and anti-social behaviour. Parks Victoria will continue to monitor and seek to resolve these issues.
Thanks,
Regards
Darren
