#DavidMcBride: Let’s revive the campaign

Dear supporters, it’s been a few months since I updated you. Recently, the new Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus put an end to whistleblower Bernard Collaery’s prosecution. It’s time to make noise and demand the government puts a stop to David McBride’s persecution now.

A few weeks ago, I had the honour of attending an advance of the documentary - Declassified - which explores David's daily struggle with mental health, compounded by the looming threat of reprisal at the hands of a punitive government.

Following the screening, I participated in the panel discussion around the role of whistleblowers in an increasingly narrow, Murdoch dominated media landscape.

I talked about the petition and shared our incredible work demonstrating public support for our hero. Your support is invaluable and sends an important message to the government.

At the event, I thanked David for his bravery and the courage he shows everyday. As an Afghan-Australian, his revelations have been very important for my community: I believe he redeemed the reputation of military and the Australian nation. Now, it’s our turn to stand for him.
