I think I owe an update to this petition.
I know that Panasonic are listening to people and even if that is not visible, they are taking into account what people are thinking about their products.
The 6K/A mode introduced in v2 of the firmware has 200 Mbps bitrate and uses H.265 compression, which roughly corresponds to two times higher bitrate for H.264. This way such a mode partially satisfies a half of the petition's requirements, namely 4K @ 400 Mbps IPB: 6K mode has resolution higher than 4K (its 4992x3744), supports 23.98p/24.00p/29.97p, uses 10bit 4:2:0 chroma sub-sampling and works with V30 cards. To me that is a very good trade-off and the only two things I could complain about are 4:2:0 instead of 4:2:2 and inability to use external monitors/recorders for 6K/A mode. The cost is a need for transcoding for post processing.
I suspect that plans for such a mode did not depend on this petition, but I believe the petition helped Panasonic to make the right decision. :)
Thanks to everyone who participated in this effort - I declare it a partial victory!
