NAACP Candidates Forum--Didn't accept questions!

This petition has now been signed by 210 individuals and you all deserve great applause for your committment to this cause.  

Last evening, Thursday, July 22, I took the petition text and the first names of all of you who have signed to the NAACP Flagler Branch 5147-B, The African American Cultural Society, SURJ-Flagler, and The MLK Committee Palm Coast Mayoral Candidate Forum.  It was hoped that I would be permitted to submit the petition to the candidates (five were present) but a) No questions were accepted from the floor and b) this petition was deemed "too political" to be read at a forum sponsored by Internal Revenue Code 501-c-3 tax exempt organizations as part of a non-partisan election.  

However, the Daytona Beach News-Journal is holding a similar forum on Monday, July 19th, 7 pm at Belle Terre Elementary School.  So, I'll try again, before simply publishing the petition and sending it personally to each of the candidates.
