Call to action: Chemical Treatment of Humans Through Our Public Water Supply in Palm Beach County

Dear Fellow Palm Beach County Residents, we need to raise awareness about this issue, as everyone using county water is directly impacted.

Please email each of our seven (7) Board of County Commissioners individually requesting they end the practice of adding Hydrofluosilicic Acid to force medical treatment on the population in mass with “water fluoridation” of our public water supply.
Hydrofluosilicic Acid is being added for human treatment purposes and serves no purpose in removing water contaminants nor increasing water quality and has actually been confirmed as a neurotoxicant by an expert body of the US Government and has been deemed a neurological risk in multiple scientific studies.

What Happened
A lot of new information has become available in recent years due to new scientific evidence and studies. It is reasonable and prudent for the Palm Beach County Commission to understand this new information and give residents the individual CHOICE of what we put in our own bodies for medical proposes and stop mass treating the population through our public water supply with a chemical, Hydrofluosilicic Acid, “fluoride” that has scientifically-documented risks to human health.

The Palm Beach County Commission has engaged for about 20 years now of adding “fluoride” in the form of Hydrofluosilicic Acid to our community water supply which, at the time, was aligned with State Department of Health guidance, but NO LONGER IS, since our State Surgeon General specifically recommends against adding fluoride to the community water based on the new evidence of risks and harm in studies.

See the Florida Surgeon General’s Guidance and several scientific citations linked to the guidance regarding Community Water Fluoridation here:

On September 24, 2024 a U.S. Federal Court judge ruled that water fluoridation poses an “unreasonable risk” of reduced IQ in children.

The ruling was based on the evidence presented including expert testimony and the evidence contained in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services National Toxicology Program (NTP) report published in August 2024. This report contained a systematic review and was peer-reviewed several times. Read the report here:

Researchers who conducted a recent May 2024 study based in Los Angeles, California concluded that “prenatal fluoride exposure was associated with increased neurobehavioral problems” in children living in an optimally fluoridated area in the US.

Choice
Currently there is NOT any mandate by the state or any federal agency to mass treat the population for ASSUMED dental issues and ASSUMED dental risks through the water supply. The majority of counties in Florida do NOT add Hydrofluosilicic Acid or other chemicals for fluoridation of their public water supply.

Regardless of education and training, individuals ought to have the right to decide what chemicals they put in their bodies or not—but right now we do NOT have that choice with the county’s mass treatment of our water supply with Hydrofluosilicic Acid for internal ingestion and topical absorption for the purposes of assumed dental “health” treatment that comes with concerning risks (backed by science and experts) of neurotoxicity and other bodily harms at the expense of our freedom to choose our own treatment and associated risks.

Each resident’s specific individual health assessment and needs have never been evaluated by the county who is treating us for ASSUMED dental conditions against our will, which is not only inappropriate but comes with the risk of harm to our health in other ways as evidenced by several scientific studies.

If a patient walks into a doctor or dentist’s office today and does not agree with nor value their advice, they have the freedom to choose to seek a second, third opinion, etc. until they agree and CONSENT to the treatment and advice of the doctor or dentist of their choosing for their personal health care decisions and what goes into their body.

Right now, the elected governing body of our County, the County Commission, is NOT allowing constituents the freedom to choose our own healthcare measures and what physically goes into our own bodies coupled with the risk of harm with the treatment they are treating us with in our water supply.

Access and Availability
Those in the county who wish to intake supplemental Fluoride have a plethora of opportunities to do so including free dental resources within the county and Dept. of Health to do so. It is actually more costly and prohibitive for the underserved to source and pay for toothpaste or mouthwash or dental care with a dentist  that does NOT include fluoride.

Additionally, it is more costly and prohibitive for constituents, especially the underserved, to install personal reverse osmosis water systems in individual homes to remove the unwanted chemical, Hydrofluosilicic Acid, that the county is mass treating us with in our water supply, thus making it extremely cost prohibitive and difficult for individuals, (especially the underserved) to safely control our personal cumulative exposures to fluoride which is deemed a neurotoxicant by US government expert officials.

Next Steps

Email each of our seven (7) Board of County Commissioners individually requesting they end the practice of adding Hydrofluosilicic Acid to force medical treatment upon the population in mass with “water fluoridation” of our public water supply. PLEASE try to make your message personal and unique. If you are struggling for time or words, there are templates you can use or customize down below in the resources section from an organization who has shared them.

Attend the 2PM Tuesday, March 11, 2025 Matters by the Public Meeting to address the County Commission and speak for the allotted 3 minutes asking them to end the practice of water fluoridation in our public water supply.
⁃ Arrive prior to 2PM (better to arrive by 1:30PM) in order to get your comment card in and allow enough time for parking and paying the parking meters before heading up to the meeting. Meeting location: 6TH FLOOR, GOVERNMENTAL CENTER, 301 N. OLIVE AVENUE, WEST PALM BEACH, FL 33401

Be on the look-out for a future meeting to be scheduled where the Palm Beach County Commission will have water fluoridation as an agenda item. The public can attend and speak and address the commission on all agenda items. Vice Mayor Baxter has already requested to have Dr. Ladapo address the commission at a meeting and other commissioners asked for a panel of experts to advise the commission on this topic. It will be important to have residents also attend and address the commission by speaking for the allotted 3 minutes. Date is to be determined.
