Support the redevelopment of the unused (since 1969) Bungendore to Captains Flat NSW branch line as a multi use Rail Trail.
The issue
This potential Rail Trail could be the first in NSW. Formally disused Rail Lines required an Act of Parliament to open them up to alternate use, this will Change and has the support of the NSW Government, what we need is endorsement from the Palerang Council and MP for Monaro NSW, John Barilaro. This line connects Bungendore to Captains Flat, winds through wonderful country and makes available a part of Australia's landscape not often seen. Gradients are light as the line was built for steam trains and the link is under 40 kilometres each way. Please support this initiative, the local communities of Bungendore, Hoskinstown and Captains Flat, as well as land owners along the rail line.
Within 30 kilometres of Canberra, 3 hours from Sydney and close to Mt Stromlo, Kowen/Sparrow Hill and the Centenary Trail. Take a day, take a night, take a week and explore the Trail, the Palerang Shire and our Capital Country.
