Petition updateStop the unfair attacks on workers at KPFKTalks return! But the struggle continues

Hello everyone,

Some good news! Pacifica has returned to the bargaining table and we as staff have actually made another concession. We are willing to accept a severance reduction to 16 weeks. Several members would be forfeiting some of their severance, but we've made this offer in good faith in order to move forward with the talks and sign our contract with the network.

Unfortunately at this time, this offer has not been accepted and the Pacifica management negotiating team of Brazon/Nelson has gone into caucus. We hope to hear from them soon.

In other sad news several of our most popular and successful hosts and producers have resigned. Ian Masters, Sonali Kolhatkar and her producer have all resigned, WITHOUT severance and are moving on in their broadcast careers. They will be sadly missed by the listeners and staff at KPFK. Sonali will continue to do a weekly show, as a volunteer, for the immediate future, which will air on Tuesday's at 4:00 PM (PT) on KPFK.

Please continue to share this petition, and leave your comments supporting our cause! An organization like Pacifica should be treating it's workers fairly, respectfully and with some appreciation for the hard work and dedication they have brought to the station and listeners over the years.

The image attached to this update is from the Jan 2019 protest where union and elected officials joined members for a strike against Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Inc. (BBH). The ad agency attempted to illegally abandon its union contract with SAG-AFTRA after almost 20 years.
