Lancement de la “African Sports Ethic Coalition (ASEC)”
Coalition Africaine pour l’Éthique dans le Sport

Face aux récents événements ayant entaché la finale de la CAN 2025, notamment la décision controversée de la CAF de retirer de manière injuste le trophée aux Champions Sénégalais, une vague d’indignation sans précédent a émergé à travers tout le continent africain.

Des citoyens et citoyennes, acteurs de la société civile, amoureux du sport et défenseurs de l’éthique se sont élevés pour dénoncer une dérive inquiétante :
la prise en otage du football africain par des intérêts économiques et des logiques qui s’éloignent des valeurs fondamentales du sport.

C’est dans ce contexte que nous annonçons la création de la :

African Sports Ethic Coalition (ASEC)
Coalition Africaine pour l’Éthique dans le Sport

L’ASEC se veut être un organe citoyen indépendant de veille, de contrôle et de plaidoyer, dédié à la promotion de la bonne gouvernance, de la transparence et de l’intégrité dans le sport africain, et plus particulièrement dans le football.

Ses missions principales seront :

• Veiller à la bonne gouvernance des fédérations sportives
• Promouvoir la transparence dans la gestion des ressources financières du sport
• Suivre et analyser les décisions des instances nationales et supranationales
• Porter un plaidoyer fort pour des réformes structurelles du sport africain
• Défendre l’éthique, la justice et l’équité dans toutes les compétition                La mise en place de cet outil est aujourd’hui une nécessité, d’autant plus que le sport génère des ressources financières considérables et constitue un levier stratégique pour l’image et le rayonnement de l’Afrique.

Nous lançons un appel à toutes les organisations de la société civile, aux experts, aux sportifs, aux juristes et aux citoyens engagés à rejoindre cette dynamique panafricaine.

Pan-African Coalition for Ethics in Sport

In light of the recent events that have tarnished the final of AFCON 2025, particularly the controversial decision by CAF to unjustly strip the Senegalese champions of their title, a wave of unprecedented indignation has emerged across the African continent.

Citizens, civil society actors, sports enthusiasts, and defenders of ethics have raised their voices to denounce a troubling drift:
the hijacking of African football by business interests whose objectives are at odds with the core values of sport, especially football.

It is in this context that we announce the creation of:

African Sports Ethic Coalition (ASEC)
A Pan-African Coalition for Ethics in Sport

ASEC aims to serve as an independent citizen body for oversight, accountability, and advocacy, dedicated to promoting good governance, transparency, and integrity in African sport, particularly in football.

Its core missions will include:

• Monitoring the governance of sports federations
• Promoting transparency in the management of sports finances
• Tracking and analyzing decisions made by national and supranational bodies
  Advocating for structural reforms in African sport
• Defending ethics, fairness, and justice in all competitions

The establishment of this initiative has become essential, especially as sport generates significant financial resources and plays a key role in shaping Africa’s image and global standing.

Africa must protect its sport.

We call on civil society organizations, experts, athletes, legal professionals, and committed citizens to join this pan-African initiative.
