Abbigail Wheeler entered the women’s locker room at the Springfield, Ill., YMCA after swim practice. There, she noticed a man changing.
A man undressing in front a minor female is a felony sexual assault. A man peeping at minor females in their locker room is also felony sexual assault.
Abbigail and her sister, 15 & 16 year old girls, were kicked out of the YMCA and off their team, where they’ve been swimming for 11 years after expressing their concerns.
Coaches and the facility did nothing to protect these women.
What will happen when a man undresses in front of Ozark Swimming girls in the Recplex bathroom, the MICDS bathroom, the Kirkwood High bathroom, Maplewood bathroom, etc.? Will we ignore these cases of sexual assault, kick our swimmers off their team and ban them from returning to the pools they grew up in for life, too?
