Thanks for signing this petition. Despite this and many residents groups objecting to the Growth deal we are still experiencing excessive housing development.

Bravely and in line with their mandate from the last local elections, South Oxfordshire District Council have challenged green belt development. As a consequence the government have suspended their planning powers and at the end of January are considering making this permanent and transferring powers from our democratically elected representatives to  Oxfordshire County Council. They are likely to have less regard for our precious countryside and be more sympathetic to government plans for excessive development. 

A meeting has been arranged for our local politicians to explain this and to help us understand the implications. As well as the Secretary of State for Housing Rt Hon Robert Jenrick, we have also invited 3 local MPs and a number of Councillors. It would be great if you can make it to further show your support.
