My short video explaining why we decided to launch this petition, once we had discovered the bare facts about Thames Water's raw sewage spills in 2019.

For those concerned about numerical precision, in the regulatory spreadsheet from which we took the numbers, there are 320 Thames Water sewage treatment works with non-zero spillages; 314 have a number greater than zero (cited in the petition) but there are also 7 blanks, where Thames cannot supply the data. These works could have zero hours of spills, but by the general trend of Thames' performance they are more likely to be positive numbers. Either way (314 or 320) it's a huge number of sewage spills for a year that was not a one-in-a-hundred-year event.
