Updates! News from Oxford & collaboration with The Bully Project

Thank you for all of your support in our movement to add upstander into the dictionary! We were ecstatic to see that Oxford Dictionary publicly recognized our movement in their blog post this past July: http://blog.oxforddictionaries.com/2015/07/legislation-lexicography-campaign-upstander/- We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the NJ State Legislature for passing a resolution calling on Oxford & Webster to include upstander as an official part of the lexicon. Since then, The Bully Project, a nationwide social action campaign inspired by the award-winning film BULLY, has reached out to us to join forces in the upstander movement. We want to redirect you to their petition: https://www.change.org/p/add-upstander-to-the-dictionary-addupstander The Bully Project is launching a CALL TO ACTION DAY, this Wednesday 11/18/15. The idea is that on this day, everyone pushes the campaign on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, & email to spread the word to #addupstander. Sign + share the petition at change.org/addupstander” We can’t thank you enough for all of your kind words & support throughout this incredible journey! We firmly believe in the power of defining upstander & the legitimacy it will bring to this critical role. Through officially defining the word upstander, together we can combat prejudice and promote tolerance in our world. We need to encourage everyone to speak up, stand up, and stop hate by embracing the role of an upstander.
