Save Ontario turtles from transportation vehicles!

Driving home one day I saw a slow-moving object on the road. I pulled over to see what it was. I realized it was a turtle and tried to save it from oncoming traffic. As I was running towards it, an oncoming vehicle came and crushed the poor turtle even after I was motioning the driver to turn away from it. I was devastated by what had happened. I decided to research what the best way to stop this from happening again. From my research, I found that transportation vehicles running over turtles is a very big problem in Ontario."6 of 8 turtle species are threatened, and those most often killed are females traveling to nesting areas. The loss of females, in particular, is devastating to turtle populations." (ontarioturtle.ca) Putting up turtle crossing signs was the best solution to this problem. I am asking for an overall 10 turtle crossing signs in turtle hotspots in Oxford County. By you signing this petition can help make a difference in the rising fatalities in Ontario turtles!
