Petition updateOWLS POISONED BY RAT BAITS - STOP BUNNINGS KILLING WILDLIFEAnother day, another rodent bait victim...

Hi everyone,

This little brush-tail possum is in care for rat bait poisoning. He was found emaciated, weak and completely alone. His mother was not so lucky. She was found days prior, deceased. The joey's blood tests showed him to be anaemic and his blood wouldn't clot properly. That means he was bleeding internally.

There was a history of rat baits used at the park in which he was found. He's been on treatment for 3 weeks now and really picking up, blood improving and much more energetic. But he is one of the lucky ones.

Rat poison kills at least 32 native wildlife species in Australia that we know of. And that really is the tip of the iceberg. It is underreported, understudied, and it's getting WORSE. With the myriad of threats to wildlife this is probably one of the most agonising way to die. It is also entirely preventable.

This is why we are calling for an URGENT call to restrict retail sales of anticoagulant rodenticides, especially "second-generation" products (SGAR’s) that are killing native wildlife at an astounding rate.

- This is a story from a wildlife carer currently on the FRONTLINE of this crisis. This is what they face everyday. I know it's devastating to see, but this is what we're up against.

Lets keep sharing and circulating this with other like minded people. It can and WILL make a difference.

THANK YOU for your overwhelming support. I'll be back with another update soon.

x Meg
