Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani teen who was shot in the head by the Taliban for standing up for girls’ right to education in Pakistan, is in Nigeria today to meet with some of the escaped kidnapped girls and their families. Together with them she made a statement to stand with the Nigerian girls who are still missing and with all girls around the world who are victims of violence and gender-based oppressions. This is an opportunity to remind the world of the continuing plight of the Nigerian girls and to demand further action from world leaders to bring them home to their loved ones.
