Upcoming Meeting The Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD) is having their final 2016 Public Meeting TONIGHT Thursday, November 17, 6:00pm - 8:00pm Water Treatment Plant, Operations Building 400 More Avenue, Los Gatos SCVWD increased its rates to SJWC by 19.9% in 2015 and 19.9% in 2016. SJWC passed that increase on to us, the ratepayers. Plan on attending this meeting and ask some important questions. We have been focusing a lot of our attention on SJWC and the CPUC. We need to find out how much of a role the SCVWD is playing in our rate increases. - Is SCVWD in compliance with Prop. 218 by charging the ratepayers the entire $250 million Rinconada Water Treatment Plant improvement project without a 2/3 voter approval? - Why did SCVWD not take this to a public vote? - How long will it take to recover the projected $250 million cost from ratepayers? - What are SCVWD's projected costs of water for the next 10 years and what will the % increases be to the ratepayers?
