Protect Every Child: Strengthen Child Abuse Prevention and Reporting in Our Community

 

Every child deserves to grow up in a safe environment where they are protected from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and other forms of harm. Protecting children, however, is not only the responsibility of parents or schools. The entire community has a role in recognizing risks, preventing abuse, and responding appropriately when a child may be in danger.

One challenge is that community members may not always know how to recognize possible signs of abuse or where to report concerns. Some children may also be afraid to speak up or may not know where they can safely seek help.

Through this petition, we are calling on our local community and barangay officials to strengthen community-based child protection efforts.

 

We are asking for:

• Regular child-protection awareness campaigns for parents, young people, and community members.

• Clear information about where and how child-abuse concerns can be reported.

• Accessible and confidential reporting channels for children and community members.

• Educational activities that teach children about their rights, personal safety, and trusted adults they can approach.

• Stronger coordination between barangay officials, schools, families, and appropriate child-protection authorities when concerns arise.

 

This petition is not intended to accuse or target any individual. It is a call for stronger preventive measures and a community system that makes it easier for children and responsible adults to seek help when something is wrong.

A community that protects its children is a community that protects its future.
