VICTORY- SORT OF
Victory: Paul is now safely at Lakemary in Kansas, where he will get the therapy, training, and support he needs.
Victory: Paul no longer has a Strike felony hanging over his head. Veiled threats of institutionalization or, even, jail, are abated.
Victory: The show of support from people around the world who were willing to see the complexities of Paul’s case and show him support is a great hope for future reform
Victory-Sort Of: A plea deal, "no contest" to a misdemeanor, for something clearly documented to be a manifestation of his disability.
Victory: More people are, now, aware that around the country and the world, rather than being helped by support agencies and service providers, people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are being abandoned to the criminal justice system.
