I'm ashamed by the lack of ideas the city has come up and the little efforts made to look for solutions. When Councillor Menard suggested an fine idea to borrow mechanics from other departments to help with bus maintenance needs, he was so quickly shut down by other councillors who called his idea "it makes no sense". 

If we allow negativity and naysayers to be at the table, we quickly deteriorate the spirit of collaborative brainstorming and creative problem solving. The question now lies in our approach to the crisis. Will our city councillors think outside the box and be open minded to new ideas. We all know that IF THERE'S A WILL THERE'S A WAY!

OCTranspo and city council are not trying hard enough. They are making excuses and hiding the truth. We want to see a real sense of urgency in city council to tackle the challenges presented collaboratively. Have they called out to engage the local community groups, organizations, or key government partnerships for solutions? Have they reached out to other municipalities such as Kitchener Waterloo to learn from their transit model's success? CITY NEEDS TO RECOGNIZE THERE IS A BUS EMERGENCY.

Things are getting worse everyday for my family. We take the bus 7, a supposedly 15min frequency route, now it's one of the most cancelled routes. Monday, we waited 40 min before giving up and calling a taxi. Tuesday, we tried calling a taxi and there wasn't even any around. We waited 50min and a bus finally showed up but it's not even on the schedule. Both days, the traffic was a horrible nightmare, no wonder the busses are so badly delayed. 

We thought about finding an alternative to bussing (i.e driving) but it doesn't make the crisis go away. We continue to stand with the Transit Riders in this fight, for the reduction of congestion, pollution to the environment, and the freedom to choose our mode of commute. We will continue to raise our voices! RIDERS DESERVE BETTER.
