Today, the petition Organise a Televised Debate on Reforming the UK's Electoral System reached another milestone of 1,000 signatures. Thank you to everyone who has signed it and helped to garner support for it so far.
We hope to continue attracting support for our petition and show the national broadcasters (the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and Sky) the strength of public sentiment in favour of such a televised debate.
What the petition is calling for is an open discussion of how we can deliver positive change for our country. With petitions calling for an early general election and the use of proportional representation at the next general election achieving hundreds of thousands of signatures, there is undeniable dissatisfaction with the status quo and undeniable hunger for change.
If you want to see this petition reach its next target of 1,500 signatures and beyond, please share this link with as many people as possible via email and social media, and comment on the petition to get it trending on Change.org.
Together, we can get closer to a fairer, more responsive democracy.
