Dear Friends of Wild Steelhead,
Today was a big day!
I delivered your 20,000+ supportive comments for wild steelhead release in southwest Oregon to decision-makers. We now have support in every state of the US and in countries around the world. Thank you so much for your support - you're making a big impact toward our goal of a sustainable wild steelhead fishery in southwest Oregon.
I was joined at the meeting by 35 supporters, 24 of which provided some of the best public comment I've ever heard. A huge thanks to everyone who showed up in person - it's a big commitment and means so much to me and the decisionmakers that you were there.
What's next? The Oregon Fish and Wildlife Department and the Commission heard our concern about the overfishing of wild winter steelhead in southwest Oregon. They have decided to make wild steelhead release a full topic of discussion and potential Commission action at the next Commission meeting in Salem, OR on January 17th.
I need your help to fill the room in January with support and provide public comments. If you are interested in attending please email me at releasewildsteelhead@gmail.com and I can provide you with all of the details.
Thank you again so much for your support, please keep signing and sharing the petition and I'll make sure to present all of your signatures to the decision-makers again in January.
Best Regards,
Harvey
