We are a group of local homeowners and small farmers that would like to encourage the Orange County Commissioners (NC) to reconsider a proposal to build a new County Jail and commercial building complex on a plot of land in the middle of our farms and homes; a place where there is no other commercial development.  

We are concerned about the adverse effects that the increased traffic, night-time lighting, and construction and operation noise will have on our children, and our farm animals. 

PLEASE JOIN US in petitioning the county commissioners to reconsider this proposal.

WE KNOW the county needs a new jail.  By all accounts, the current one needs refurbishment and expansion; but there MUST be other options than to put it literally within yards of at least a dozen residences...
