Opposed to rezoning on ~44 acres in McEachern Farms area from R-80 to R-15. Item # Z-83
The Issue
The NE corner of Macland Rd and Villa Rica Rd is currently zoned very low density residential (2 acre lots) which is appropriate for the"McEachern Farms" area in west Cobb County. The applicant, Blake-Wilder Strategies, LLC, is asking to rezone to R-15 for 81 homes on the 44.72 acres with no green space. This is entirely unsuitable to our community which is mostly represented by homes on 2 - 20 acre parcels, many of which are farms with horses, alpacas and cows. The smaller lots and smaller homes will devalue our surrounding properties, increase the already overloaded traffic patterns, and create more water runoff than the drainage systems in place can safely handle. We are not opposed to residential use of this property but want it to be reasonable in terms of density and the value of the homes. Please sign the petition and attend the meetings on March 5th & 19th in Cobb County!
