Yesterday, USA Climbing announced a delay in the implementation of their Transgender Athlete Participation Policy to "reduce administrative complexities for all athletes..." We are relieved to know that USA Climbing's Transgender Athlete Participation Policy will not go into effect today as intended; however our call is for USA Climbing to pause this policy indefinitely in order to include trans, nonbinary, and intersex climbers in the revision process. We are not interested in any policy written or approved without these voices. Creating a fair policy without perpetuating harm is possible. We will continue to speak out until our voices are in the room to ensure this goal is reached. Thank you to all who have been a part of this work.
