The Pinellas County Delegation will be meeting this Wednesday from 1-4pm at the SPC Seminole Campus to discuss issues for the upcoming legislative session, including the proposed changes to the legislation that governs PSTA.

 The current speaker list for this meeting has been published, consisting mainly of individuals from St. Pete Beach, which has actively been working against the progress of PSTA in projects like the SunRunner BRT. 

The proposed changes would hinder PSTA’s ability to provide top-quality public transportation by 

• Limiting representation from individual cities in favor of representation from the Pinellas County Commission and an appointee by the Governor
• Changing the definition of public transportation to eliminate the types of services that PSTA could provide
• And limiting the flexibility for the agency to provide fare-free service that has been proven effective in attracting first-time riders.
