On Sept. 2, the NHC Board of Commissioners voted UNANIMOUSLY to reject the rezoning of 6634 Carolina Beach Road.

The message was crystal clear: “Not every piece of land needs to be rezoned.”

After four attempts by the developer, the community stood strong and this property will remain R-15, just as it was intended.

This win is thanks to the power of neighbors coming together. More than 500 petition signatures, emails, comments, and turnout at the meeting made the difference. The Board heard us, and they acted in line with our concerns for traffic, stormwater, and safe, strategic growth.

Thank you to every single resident who signed, shared, and spoke up. This is a huge victory for Lords Creek, Woodlake, Ocean Forest Lakes, and all of New Hanover County.
