Planning Board Meeting Update
Thanks to everyone who attended the Planning Board meeting last night.
The Planning Board asked a lot of great questions, and I think we did well pointing out the flaws in the arguments to open the gate. Father Leon from St. Greg's also announced that the church is willing to continue the previous lease with the hospital, should they be willing. The board decided, in fairness, to postpone the decision until the next planning board meeting, in order to review the materials and Traffic Study, though the hearing is closed to testimony and evidence.
It's important that we keep letting the Planning Board and the Town Board know they should reject this proposal. Please contact the boards here and make your voice heard. You can choose which board to contact in the dropdown.
There is a general Town Board meeting this Monday March 23 at 7PM. The agenda has scheduled:
XI. PUBLIC EXPRESSION
This is an opportunity for residents to comment on matters involving Amherst other than those pertinent to Public Hearings that day. Speakers will be limited to 3 minutes.
We plan to be there to let the Town Board know about this issue before it is voted on and/or gets to them to be approved. Anyone is welcome to show up as well. Just to clarify, the process goes: Traffic Safety Board ✅ -> Planning Board ⏳ -> Town Board.
