In March, the Zoning Administrator for the City of Chicago has ruled that Guidepost Montessori at Magnificent Mile qualifies as a school under the legal definition provided in state law. This school is within 500 feet of 620 N Fairbanks, and that makes the location ineligible to be used as a cannabis dispensary under the Chicago Zoning Ordinance.
Latest Update:
The dispensary applicant is appealing the Zoning Administrator's ruling, and at the May 17 meeting of the Chicago Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) we understand the applicant will be asking for another continuance until later this summer so that so the appeal could be heard in front of a full ZBA board.
We will update you of the new hearing date for the appeal as we learn more.
