Here’s a quick update. 

Well, we’ve kicked the proverbial hornet’s nest. 

Good! That was our intention. To passively ignore Nama-aparadha is to participate in it. Even if this petition were just a means for members of our community to declare their desire to be on the right side of history, it would have value. 

It is understandable that there would be some misunderstanding around what these trademark claims imply, so Sitapati and myself have been fielding questions. He’s done a really good job at collating these apprehensions and given credible answers in this "Frequently Asked Questions" page here:
