The Planning Commission meet last night, April 16, to discuss the rezoning cases. We provided 13 hand signatures, a 4-page letter, 50 online votes, along with a litany of verbal reasons for opposing the rezoning. There were two other households that spoke against the rezoning as well. Unfortunately, they voted 5 in favor, 2 against, and 1 stay. It will progress now to the County Commissioner for the final decision. But, there is still hope!
I want to reiterate that - this is NOT the final outcome.
Also, I would though like to point out that while there were five in favor, three were against or undecided. That's important because it shows that there are board members that are listening to us, and take our thoughts and opinions into consideration.
The next step we can take is to make our voices heard to the actual County Commissioners.
The County Commissioners are Gary Burton, Bob Curry & Joel Lowe. You have until May 14 to call or write them an email - they meet on May 15 at 9am to make final decision. We urge you to contact them. You truly can make a difference!
