When this petition was created a week ago, I would have never thought that 1,000 signatures were possible.  

This petition against Floodplain Rezoning is very personal to me, as you can see by the image attached.  This is what happened to our home during Hurricane Helene and we again flooded during Hurricane Milton.  It was two weeks of pure chaos.

I am concerned that if these development plans succeed, the water will be measured in feet and not inches.  In 10+ years of living here, we’ve never experienced any flooding.  There are no previous flood events reported for our home.

We must demand responsible development for all county residents. I can’t thank you enough for the support you have shown.  The Peace River is a beautiful place and deserves to be protected.
