We wanted to provide an update on our complaint against Cllr Paul Basham regarding his decision to sign this petition as Disney characters 4 times. The link to the Gazette article is here

We have had a response from Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s Head of Law and Governance and Monitoring Officer (her official title), following their investigation.

Unsurprisingly, but somewhat disappointingly, their internal investigation has concluded that there is ‘no further action’ with no acceptance of any wrongdoing.  

I have asked Cllr Basham directly if he would consider issuing a public apology, but I have had no response.

We do have other options available to us, including raising a formal incident with Hampshire Police. However, this campaign to get the Council to see sense and take Down Grange Park off the table for the Golf Centre re-provision takes up a lot of our valuable time, so we are going to be focusing on that going forward.

Don’t forget if you have a view on this proposal please make your thoughts known. You can do this in a few ways including sending an email to the 2 Council Cabinet members in the hot seat for this project, Onnalee Cubitt and Kerry Morrow.
