Did you know that there are already several solar farms constructed and proposed for in and around the Deep Creek Lake area (at least 8* separate solar projects that are in some stage of planning/construction)?
Did you know that, under oath, these solar companies admitted to soliciting hundreds and thousands of Garrett County property owners in attempt to attract even more interest in constructing solar facilities anywhere and everywhere there is open acreage?
There is no master plan on where these facilities are allowed. They can literally appear anywhere and anytime. Where ever they can fit, they will be proposed. And our County officials are letting them by not banning them from Garrett County or the lake watershed area as they did with the wind turbines.
The onslaught is coming if left unchecked. Solar facilities will pollute and scar our beautiful landscapes for decades. Make no mistake, these solar companies have big plans for our area and these large solar farms should be considered the next invasive species; even more problematic than lake Hydrilla.
STOP THE SPREAD!
