Oppose overdevelopment at 3800 Kaiser Road

The Issue

Our community is the only community south of Dublin Blvd, and we take pride in its peaceful nature. Despite our efforts to raise concerns against projects like ALOFT hotel, the new daycare, and shopping complex, we have felt unheard and dismissed. The construction of two car dealerships and a car wash next to our community already brings significant issues, especially with safety and traffic. Now, the proposal to add a massive hotel complex at 3800 Kaiser Road threatens to further disrupt the harmony and safety of our cherished neighborhood.

The planned project includes two four-story hotels with a total of 237 rooms, a sizeable restaurant/retail building of 10,178 sq. ft., and 310 parking stalls, all crammed into just 5.75 acres of land. This overdevelopment is not only too large for the site, but it also introduces a host of problems that could affect our daily lives and overall wellbeing.

Traffic and safety are major concerns. The increase in vehicles due to the hotels and restaurant/retail space will exacerbate the existing traffic issues, making the roads less safe for our families, particularly for children and the elderly. Our streets are already struggling to manage the volume from previous developments, and this new project could push them to the brink.

The quality of life we currently enjoy is at stake. The influx of visitors will change the character of our community, adding noise, pollution, and a transient population that undermines the sense of community we value. Furthermore, with potentially hundreds more cars moving in and out every day, the risk of accidents and congestion rises sharply.

Additionally, there are nuances for emergency vehicles, especially when access to Kaiser is critical. The congestion might delay vital emergency responses, putting lives and health at risk.

We urge Dublin's city council to listen to our concerns and reconsider the approval of this project. It is crucial that our voices be heard to protect the community, safety, and quality of life for current and future residents.

Sign this petition to stand with us in opposing the proposed development at 3800 Kaiser Road. Let’s ensure that our community's needs are prioritized, and its future is secured.

As a recent example, look at the attached picture where a neighboring staff parked his car at red corner (hugely unsafe for kids) in our community. We have already observed so many issues related to their cars parked in our community. Think about the ruckus it will create with this big hotel coming next to the community. The whole community will be sprawled with so many commercial space :-(

Instead we should try to build a senior living community or mixed use of residential and commercial space for community residents with a space for a park for kids. There is no walkable park for Apex community and the only small park community had was taken away by the land owner.

Note - Also please attend the session to oppose this proposal at 6 PM Wednesday on Sep 24th or 7 PM Thursday on Sep 25th.
