Dodie's Showing Her True Agenda - and It's Ugly! OPPOSE HB466

Keep up the pressure y'all!
The Rainbow PAC held a protest demonstration at the office of Rep. Dodie Horton this past Friday (5/12/23) to call her out on her misrepresentations of her bill HB466 - the "Don't Say Gay" bill for public schools in Louisiana. Opponents of the homophobic bill also raised serious questions that Rep. Horton still has yet to answer. Questions like:
- How will it be enforced?
- What are the consequences of someone breaking this proposed law?
- Can heterosexual folks have discussions of their families and "chosen/preferred lifestyles" as you put it?
- Being gay or transgender are not illegal... nor is same-sex marriage... so why do you believe you have any right at all to discriminate against us this way?
- Who's/What's next? Are you going after our marriages - our kids - our jobs?
- Rep. Horton repeatedly gives one (1) example of why she believes we have a problem that this bill remedies: ONE teacher in Caddo parish a year or more ago posted a Twitter "Tweet" that ruffled her feathers - is that all you have Rep. Horton???
Others protesting pointed out similarities between HB466 and past anti-LGBTQIA+ laws in the US until recent years - and legislative acts that occurred in Germany in the 1920s and 1930s which lead up to the holocaust. The erosion of civil liberties with this and similar bills should alarm anyone familiar with history.

PS: The next update will include the emails for the Senate's Education Committee which is next to consider the bill before going to the full Senate for debate. "Kill the bill!"
