We have another significant update to share with all supporters.

On Tuesday evening, April 14th, the Sudbury Finance Committee voted to Not Support Article 46. This follows the Sudbury Select Board’s vote of Not Support on April 1st. With both of these governing bodies opposing Article 46, it’s clear there is strong concern not only about the policy and approach of this proposal but also its financial viability and lack of diligence.

This double rejection also underscores what many residents have already voiced — that this project, as proposed, may not be in the best interest of Sudbury. Last night it was highlighted that the financial standing of the project does not align with the fiscal responsibilities of the town, raising serious questions about transparency, feasibility and prudent management of public funds.

The votes from both boards will be presented at Town Meeting where their positions will be on full display. Given the advanced timing of printing, the town's official Warrant will be displayed as follows:

SELECT BOARD POSITION: The Select Board does not support this article. 

FINANCE COMMITTEE REPORT: The Finance Committee will report at Town Meeting

This means when Article 46 is presented on the floor, the Finance Committee will report live to the residents that they are not in support of this proposed article.

While these are important wins, your voice is still critical. Article 46 will still come to a vote at Sudbury Town Meeting, and it will be the residents who ultimately decide. That’s why we need everyone to stay engaged.
