We Need Housing Now- Enough Of The Research: I Have Created A New Report - Research Of My Own

Every year, hundreds of millions of dollars move through federal agencies, state housing departments, city consultants, and private foundations to study why housing is unaffordable — while the actual answer has been sitting in plain sight for over a decade: zoning, permitting, and approval processes that move slower than the crisis they’re supposed to solve.

This report pulls the real numbers — what’s actually being spent on research versus what it would take to build — and walks through one of the clearest examples of the problem in action: tiny houses on wheels, a housing type with real demand, willing builders, and ready buyers, stuck in regulatory limbo for ten years and counting.

It’s not an argument against research. It’s an argument for balance — and for putting a meaningful share of that time, money, and attention back where it belongs: on job sites, in shop classes, and in the hands of the next generation of American tradespeople and actual housing.

New Report Tracing The ''Research'' Funds

The report totals the traceable federal and philanthropic spending on housing research and finds roughly $198.75 million committed to studying the problem — before counting the thousands of individual local consultant contracts layered on top in nearly every U.S. city with a housing plan requirement

There are meetings after meetings, where so often no real solutions come out of them. And it gets stamped “tabled” for a later date.

Let’s ”Table”  the research. It’s time to Build Baby Build

HUD's budget for 2025 was over $145 Million.
