Why this petition matters

Started by Jackie Larson

The purpose of this petition is to ask Spanish Fork City Council members to factor these signatures into their decision regarding the Modera development.

The Modera high density development in the Leland area of Spanish Fork was recommended for approval by the Spanish Fork Planning Commission and is scheduled for a public hearing with the City Council on April 19th.

The design for the several 4-story stacked buildings plans for:

  • 190 units - 1 bedroom
  • 418 units - 2 bedrooms
  • 60 units - 3 bedrooms

*In total - 668 dwelings on 37.34 acres, averaging nearly 18 homes per acre*

This development is seperated from the urban area of Spanish Fork and is haphazardly situated within hundreds of acres of agricultural land in both Spanish Fork City and Utah County boundaries. This requested zone change is not consistent with the surrounding agriculture land use, and conflicts with the rural character of this community and wildlife habitats.

We encourage the Spanish Fork City Council to vote “no” on the proposed Modera zone change from Rural Residential to High Density Residential.
