Dear All,
Thank you for signing our petition last month and for your continued support in opposing fire service cuts in Helensburgh.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service SFRS) Public Consultation went live today (25/6/25) and is available on the main SFRS website. The focus for Helensburgh Fire Station and our community is the proposed reduction in full-time cover. This would mean full time cover would only be available between 8am and 6pm from Monday to Friday with an on-call model over the remaining hours.
The SFRS consultation can be found at : - Service Delivery Review | Scottish Fire and Rescue Service
Comments can be madealong with a questionnaire at : -SFRS Service Delivery Review (SDR) Consultation - Citizen Space
Please take a full part in the consultation. We hope (and given that you signed our petition) that you are opposed to fire service cuts in Helensburgh. Please however be as honest and thorough with any answers that you want to provide.
A public meeting arranged by SFRS is to take place on Tuesday 26th August 2025 at 6pm in the Victoria Halls, Sinclair St, Helensburgh and we would encourage your attendance at this event. Further details are noted on the SFRS consultation website.
Our last request is of course to ask that you please continue to share our petition. The more who sign it the better and it will also allow us the opportunity to get in touch in the future and share anything of interest with you and others.
It is important that fire service response times are kept as low as possible especially given the communities which Helensburgh Fire Station serves.
Regards
Helensburgh Fire Station Crew
